Terms and Conditions for Destination Congo

Welcome to Destination Congo! These Terms and Conditions outline the agreement between you, the customer (“Customer,” “you,” “your”), and Destination Congo Limited (“we,” “us,” “our”) regarding your use of our services, including booking trips, accommodation, transportation, and other services offered through our platform. By booking or using our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by these terms.

1. Scope of Services
Destination Congo Limited provides tailored travel experiences to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), facilitating travel logistics such as accommodation, transportation, visa support, and curated group tours. Our goal is to offer a seamless, enjoyable travel experience, whether for individual or group bookings.

1.1 Service Providers: We work with local and international service providers including hotels, transport companies, and local guides to deliver these services. Destination Congo acts as an intermediary and is not responsible for the direct execution of services provided by third parties.
1.2 Customisation: Each trip is tailored to your specific needs. Our platform offers custom packages to suit individual or group travel preferences, including excursions, cultural experiences, and more.
2. Booking and Payment
2.1 Booking Process: All bookings must be made via our website or partner sites we use to facilitate transactions. Once a booking is confirmed, a contract between you and Destination Congo Limited is established.
2.2 Payment Terms: To confirm your booking, a non-refundable deposit of 30% is required. Full payment must be made 60 days prior to the trip departure date. Payment plans are available upon request and must be agreed upon at the time of booking.
2.3 Currency: All payments are made in GBP (British Pounds Sterling) unless otherwise specified. Any transaction fees related to currency conversions or international payments will be borne by the customer.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
3.1 Customer Cancellations: If you cancel your booking, the following refund policy applies:

Cancellations made more than 60 days before departure: 70% refund of the total trip cost.

Cancellations made 30-59 days before departure: 50% refund of the total trip cost.

Cancellations made within 30 days of departure: No refund.
3.2 Provider Cancellations: In rare cases where Destination Congo Limited or its service providers must cancel a trip, you will receive a full refund of any payments made. We will not be held liable for any other costs such as flight tickets or personal expenses.
4. Travel Insurance
It is mandatory for all travellers to secure their own travel insurance, which should cover personal injuries, medical expenses, and other risks that may arise during your trip. Destination Congo Limited will not be liable for any medical costs or unforeseen personal expenses during the trip.
5. Visas and Travel Documentation
5.1 Visa Support: We offer support with the visa application process for travel to the DRC. However, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have the correct visa and documentation required for travel. Failure to secure proper documentation is not grounds for a refund.
5.2 Passports: All travellers must have a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the planned return date.
6. Transportation for Group Tours
6.1 Airport Transfers: Shuttle service from and to the airport will be provided.
6.2 Local Transportation: Transportation to all day activities and evening group events will be provided. However, personal transportation outside the itinerary will be the responsibility of the traveller.
7. Accommodation
7.1 Group Accommodation: All travellers will be staying at the same hotel, Accommodation includes breakfast, but personal expenses for food and drinks during other times are the responsibility of the traveller.
7.2 Room Allocations: You may request specific room preferences, but they are subject to availability and cannot be guaranteed.
8. Go-Pass (Departure Tax)
Travellers are required to pay for a Go-Pass (departure tax) at the airport upon departure from Kinshasa. Please ensure you have enough funds for this payment, as it is required for exit from the country.
9. Liability and Travel Risks
9.1 Assumption of Risk: By participating in our trips, you acknowledge that travel to the DRC may involve risks, including but not limited to political instability, natural disasters, health risks, or personal safety concerns. Destination Congo Limited will take reasonable measures to ensure your safety but is not liable for any incidents beyond our control.
9.2 Third-Party Liability: Destination Congo Limited is not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party service providers, including but not limited to hotels, transportation providers, or local guides.
10. Privacy and Data Protection
We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. Any information collected will be used solely for the purpose of providing our services to you. For more details, refer to our Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to Terms and Conditions
Destination Congo Limited reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated via email or through our website. Continued use of our services will indicate acceptance of the updated terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.
